Bitfocus Companion resides within a Docker container on a Raspberry Pi. The Novation Launchpad is physically connected to the Pi via USB.

The communication is bidirectional, with the pads changing colour to reflect the remote state. (For example, muting the mic within the OBS application or the Companion web interface changes the colour of the pad in this example photograph, just as pressing the pad itself does.)

The civil service bureaucracy is expected to maintain strict neutrality but the PSA demonstrated their political affiliations by handing out placards in the dual red and green colour scheme of the Labour and Green political parties instead of the PSA’s own orange.

Both the Labour and Green political parties were in attendance, including the Green Party MPs Chloe Swarbrick, Marama Davidson and Ricardo Menendez March. Flags of the International Communist Workers Party, the Rainbow deviants and the Maori separatists were also flying in solidarity.
