The Freedom and Rights Coalition hosted a ‘Make New Zealand Great Again’ demonstration in the Auckland Domain today.
I’d estimate there were somewhere in the region of 3,000 attendees. The demographics were 80% Maori, 10% Polynesian and the remainder mostly European and Oriental people. Families, and lots of kids running around having fun.
The coalition put on a complementary sausage sizzle and some people had tickets for the hangi they were putting down so the event was certainly well catered. There was superb music from a live band and some brief speeches. Hannah and Brian Tamaki both spoke and it was nice for them to make an appearance in what must be a very difficult time for them, during their criminal trial which I personally consider political persecution.
But the day wasn’t about that. The speeches were brief and the themes were patriotism and unity alongside the Christian values one would expect from men and women of the cloth. In my opinion these themes were a direct response to the division and hate we’ve seen expressed by the far-left in our streets and in our House of Representatives this week.
The haka performed was also a response to that and I hope people will view my footage of it around the world. This reflects the true face of Maoridom and of New Zealand, unlike the one yesterday performed by the primitive separatists the world has been laughing at.
