Promo: SimonTV LIVE on Sunday
I don’t have a guest lined up this week so SimonTV LIVE will be the usual format, interspersing news and commentary with dance music and early 20th century cinema.
I love the audience engagement and endeavour to respond to the comments people write into the chat. With several thousand people tuning in reading the torrent of comments has become unmanageable as it distracts my attention away from presenting. Thankfully a a few people have kindly offered to moderate, highlighting the comments I should read and respond to. This Sunday is the first attempt at remote moderation which is quite a change as I’ve always been a one-man-band attending to all of the production and presenting by myself. We’ll see how it goes.
Lots has happened this week I want to discuss. Elections in Canada and Australia, the fallout from the UK Supreme Court decision and domestically, the demise of the People’s Republic of Wokington. I’ll be addressing these and other topics and inviting anyone wishing to come on stream and speak with me to do so - video talkback.
I am surprised that people seem to really enjoy the Fun With Fountain Pens segment. I’m not sure if this is because people enjoy hearing about something as mundane as pens or if you’re tuning in to laugh at the nerd talking about pens in excruciating detail. I don’t mind either way. This week I have a wonderful (and enormous) pen to review and a new ink.
The show goes out on many platforms including here on Substack. It’s different here though, Substack doesn’t get the music and movie feeds to avoid copyright issues. For the full show tune into one of the other platforms listed below but wherever you’re watching please, say hello in the chat. It comes up on screen so everyone watching on other platforms can communicate with you.
See you Sunday.
