A while ago I needed to include a third item in an order from Aliexpress in order to get free shipping. This fake was going for the princely sum of $NZD13 so I thought “what the hell.”
I finally got around to plugging it in and comparing it to my real Shure SM7dB and was surprised by how well it performs, even without a pop filter. I’m not an audio engineer and my hearing isn’t all that good but to me it sounds pretty good. It might be a bit of confirmation bias though, in favour of my argument that you don’t need expensive equipment to produce content and publish it to the Internet.
