In the mix with SimonTV.
Thanks everyone, for helping me smoke test my broadcasting capability outside of the social media platforms, live.SimonTV.org
The test went really well I thought. I might need to tweak the output down so people watching on mobile connections don't experience pauses. Right now it's set to 4 Mb/s and I don't want to go too low as it sacrifices video quality.
The other aspect I tested was integrating analogue input from my turntables on the fly, which worked! Thanks for those listening who helped me tweak the audio levels.
This is what the analogue setup looks like featuring the overhead camera. The mixer from my turntables connects to a standard stereo amplifier, to which RCA outputs from the DAT ports to a $10 Aliexpress USB AV capture dongle attached to my workstation.
I'm not certain anyone really wants to actually watch me spin vinyl but it's great to have the capability. All up a very successful evening's testing, generally achieving both my objectives with perhaps minor tweaking left to do. This is a sample clip of how it came through on the broadcast.
