I can't say that I'll ever get as enthusiastic about pens as you, but I do find your stories about them a toe-dip into another world :-)

It's astonishing isn't it, that someone can write so much about something of such little consequence. :-)

Well ...... I must admit that I somewhat dispute the "such little consequence" description. I understand what you mean on one hand, but I also can see a richness in pens, especially pens that have used ink which doesn't fade over centuries, and have recorded our history. Every time we write or sign something with a pen that uses ink, we have to use that bit more consciousness than we do when we just write online. I would be hard-pushed now to tap into the concentration required to write something in ink that's not easily changeable, yet it was done for that way for so many centuries. Even soldiers on the frontline could compose and write comprehensible letters under duress. Mind you, we used to be taught the art of letter writing at school, but I don't know if that's done anymore.
